Henri Willig Webshop exists 25 years!
On 25 April 2000, our webshop went live - an extraordinary step for that time, when online shopping hardly existed. What started as an innovative student project by Wiebe Willig grew into a global online cheese experience. And now, 25 years later, we are proud to celebrate the anniversary of the Henri Willig webshop! In this blog, we share our journey of the past 25 years and talk about our plans for the future.
From pioneers to online cheese professionals
Over the past 25 years, our webshop has evolved from simple beginnings to a professional, multilingual platform where customers from more than 50 countries can order their favourite cheeses. The site received several metamorphoses and is today available in four languages: Dutch, English, German and French.
Whether you are looking for an original cheese gift, a delicious cheese for on the drinks board or new flavours to discover - through the webshop, we bring the taste of Henri Willig to you, wherever you are.
Growth, innovation and service
During the corona period, the web shop received an extra boost: people were no longer able to travel, but still wanted to enjoy Henri Willig's special flavours. Since then, our online shop has grown considerably and we continue to improve continuously - at the front for a pleasant shopping experience, and at the back for faster and smarter logistics.
Besides private orders, we have also been serving small-business customers such as cheese shops, delicatessens and catering establishments via the webshop for a few years now. This way, we make it even easier to buy quality cheeses in a flexible way, wherever you are located.
Together, for each other
Behind the scenes, the webshop runs on an enthusiastic and dedicated team. And in the busiest months of the year - especially November and December - we get help from colleagues in our shops to get all those festive orders out the door on time. Vice versa, the webshop team also supports other departments, for instance when sending out sample orders. That way, we really make it happen together.

Together with our loyal customers, we have enjoyed 25 years full of flavour, growth, and wonderful moments. We are incredibly grateful for that! Thanks to you, we continue to innovate, with plans for a new storage location and exciting developments like personalised cheeses.
