Entrepreneur of the Year 2025

What began as artisanal craftsmanship in Katwoude has grown into an internationally beloved cheese brand. That entrepreneurial journey received a special accolade at the beginning of this year: Henri Willig was named Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 in the municipality of Waterland.

According to the independent jury of Ondernemend Waterland, Henri Willig stands out for its courage, vision, and perseverance. Equally important is the way the company does business, with respect for its surroundings, a strong focus on sustainability, and a clear commitment to quality and customer experience. With around forty cheese shops at home and abroad, the brand has become a powerful ambassador for the region.

During the annual New Year’s reception, CEO Wiebe Willig accepted the award. He emphasized that the success is not the work of one individual, but of a team. The distinction was dedicated to the more than 500 employees who work every day to create opportunities and make a difference with passion.

In 2026 as well, Henri Willig will continue to commit itself to socially responsible entrepreneurship and to the community in which the company is deeply rooted. With the same energy and dedication with which it once began, the family business continues to build for the future—locally anchored and with a perspective that reaches far beyond Waterland.
