Our Experiences
Henri Willig wants to make his visitors go richer than when they came. We do this at various locations and in various ways. For instance, we have a museum about Edam cheese, various cheese tastings and a small museum in Amsterdam. In addition, there are various experiences at the various Cheese farms. We look forward to welcoming you.
The Story of Edam Cheese
Always wanted to know why Edam is so famous?
Henri Willig has built an experience in Edam where the glorious history of Edam cheese is told and where you can learn everything about Edam cheese from the past and also today. A nice outing for all ages. The experience is wheelchair accessible. Edam is close to Amsterdam, so the experience is perfect to combine with a visit to the capital.
Jacobs Hoeve
Katwoude is located on the IJsselmeerdijk between Monnickendam and Volendam. The rural setting with farms in the surrounding area is a quintessential example of the North Holland polder, where the famous Dutch cheeses originate from. Next to the dike is the characterful Jacobs Hoeve. You can find more about the Jacobs Hoeve here.
De Haal
We welcome visitors to take a look in De Haal, previously a hay-barn, in which we tell the story of Henri Willig and his passion for animals and quality cheeses. From the self-guided tour in De Haal you'll enter our shop. Here you can taste our delicious cheeses. Also look at our website.
De Kaaswaag
In earlier days Edam cheeses were weighed at the Kaaswaag, in the historical heart of Edam. A visit to the Kaaswaag weighing house and the summer cheese market will take you back to the origin of the world-renowned round cheeses. To get to know more about the Kaaswaag go to our website.
