After you have been welcomed at the Alida-Hoeve farm you can visit wooden shoe maker Klompenboerderij De Vriendschap, next to it. In olden days farmers and workers used to wear these clogs made of poplar or willow wood. Wooden shoe making is a craft that is still highly regarded in the Netherlands; it requires considerable skill to carve a clog out of a wood disc. After the demonstration you can admire a variety of decorated wooden shoes in the shop, where other souvenirs are also available. Admission is free.
