Accessibility Statement
Henri Willig Kaas BV
Last updated: 20 November 2025
Introduction
Purpose of this accessibility statement
This accessibility statement explains how Henri Willig Kaas BV works towards meeting the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA). We describe the current level of accessibility of our website and the steps we are taking to improve it.
This statement aligns with other policy documents within our organisation, such as our privacy policy and sustainability programme, and reflects our broader commitment to inclusive and responsible digital services.
About the European Accessibility Act (EAA)
The European Accessibility Act (EAA) is legislation designed to improve the accessibility of products and services across the European Union. The EAA sets out accessibility requirements for websites, mobile apps, e-commerce, banking services, and digital communication tools. The aim of the EAA is to ensure that people with disabilities can fully participate in the digital society and economy.
From 28 June 2025 onwards, organisations covered by this law—such as financial institutions, online shops, and digital service providers—are legally required to make their digital services accessible. This means they must comply with the international accessibility standard EN 301 549, which is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level A and AA.
What is digital accessibility?
At Henri Willig, we are committed to making our digital services accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Digital accessibility means that websites, apps, and other digital tools are designed and developed so that everyone can use them properly. This includes:
- Ensuring the website works with a screen reader
- Ensuring the website is operable using only a keyboard
- Providing sufficient colour contrast
- Ensuring website content is perceivable and understandable for all users
Our ambition
Henri Willig has been a professional cheesemaker since 1974 and always operates with respect for people, animals, and nature. These values are reflected not only in our products but also in our digital environment. We believe it is important that everyone can use our online services comfortably and without barriers.
Our website is therefore assessed every two years by an independent organisation according to the most recent internationally recognised accessibility guidelines (WCAG). We use the findings from these assessments to continuously improve our website. In this way, we work step by step towards a digital environment that is accessible and inclusive for as many people as possible.
Monitoring and assurance
To verify whether our digital services are sufficiently accessible, we follow the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). We adhere to WCAG 2.1 level A and AA. This is based on four principles:
Perceivable: Information and components must be presented in ways users can perceive.
Operable: Everyone must be able to use and navigate the website regardless of limitations or technology.
Understandable: All information and user interface elements must be understandable.
Robust: Content must remain reliably accessible across different browsers and assistive technologies (such as screen readers).

Status of accessibility
Assessment
In July 2025, research agency Digitaal Toegankelijk conducted an assessment of the digital accessibility of henriwillig.com. The assessment was carried out based on the Website Accessibility Conformance Evaluation Methodology (WCAG-EM).
Report
The result of this assessment is available in the accessibility report.
Planned improvements and compliance
The July 2025 assessment concluded that henriwillig.com partially complies with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level A and AA. This means that some parts of the content are not yet fully accessible. For each issue that does not yet comply, the cause has been identified and improvements are planned. Measures have been taken to further enhance accessibility with the aim of achieving full compliance.
Known accessibility issues
The accessibility assessment shows that the website does not yet fully comply with WCAG guidelines. The key issues currently being addressed include:
Ensuring full keyboard operability with clear and logical focus indication.
Providing PDFs with correct structure, titles, and language settings or offering accessible alternatives.
Adding appropriate alternative text and labels to images, icons, and buttons.
Improving contrast and readability so that text and interactive elements are visible to everyone.
Improving semantic structure and content order to ensure screen readers interpret information correctly.
Alternatives
When certain parts of https://henriwillig.com/ are not fully accessible, as described in the previous sections, we provide suitable alternatives to help users complete their tasks. We offer:
Telephone support: contact our customer service at +31 299 655 151. They can assist with placing an order or reading aloud inaccessible pages.
Email support: via webshop@henriwillig.com you can request support or ask questions. If a webpage or PDF is not fully accessible, we can provide an accessible summary or alternative format upon request.
Physical stores: you can visit one of our stores to obtain products and information offline. See the overview of our cheese shops. Please note: physical store locations have not been assessed for accessibility.
Measures to ensure accessibility
What do we do to maintain accessibility? Henri Willig takes the following measures:
Digital accessibility is a fixed part of our sustainability programme. The results are published every two years.
Every two years, Henri Willig has the website assessed by an external party according to WCAG guidelines. In the meantime, we carry out internal checks.
Recommendations for improvement are implemented as quickly as possible.
All employees and external partners involved in the design or content placement on https://henriwillig.com/ are trained in and monitored on applying accessibility guidelines.
Checks are carried out to ensure compliance with accessibility requirements. The supervising authority is the Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM).
If we identify that we are not meeting an accessibility requirement, we are obliged to report this to the ACM and take appropriate measures to resolve the issue.
