From Cheese to Ink: Henri Willig opens his own tattoo shop in the heart of Amsterdam
Henri Willig - the man behind the world-famous cheese - is diving into the world of tattoos. Soon, you will not only be able to enjoy artisanal cheeses at the iconic Amsterdam Cheese House, but also get a cheese tattoo at his brand new tattoo shop: Henri Willig's Cheesy Tattoos.

From Gouda Glory to Golden Needle
What started as a playful trend in the United States - 'cheese mongers' with tattoos of their favourite cheeses - has now spread to the Netherlands. And fair is fair: real fans go as far for their love of cheese as they do for their favourite band or football team. Henri Willig saw the rising demand and thought: why not?
"In our shops, we increasingly get questions from Henri Willig fans about where they can get a cheese tattoo," Henri explains. "Then, of course, a step towards having our own tattoo studio is quick."
Opening party with cheese ánd ink
The opening of Henri Willig's Cheesy Tattoo's will be celebrated grandly on Tuesday 1 April. From 12:00, you are welcome at Haringpakkerssteeg 18 for an afternoon of music, fun, and of course: cheese. The first 50 visitors will even get a free cheese tattoo - done while enjoying the cosy atmosphere of the Amsterdam Cheese House.
Employees in ink too
Not only customers are pampered. It turns out that Henri Willig employees are also fans of cheese tattoos. The Henri Willig logo can already be admired on several arms and ankles. That is why all employees can get a free cheese tattoo from the opening.
"Think of it as a fringe benefit," Henri jokes.
